Week One Hundred and Two

Hey everyone!

It was a fantastic week here in the middle of Maine. It was pretty hot and humid all week, but that's great because I don't like being cold! We started out the week by meeting our new Mission President. The anticipation was real, but then when we saw him and his wife we all felt good about it. They are really cool. I won't have him for long, but obviously I need to learn something from him, or he from me, or both from each other! We had a good conversation already about future leadership as we are losing 6 zone leaders in the next transfer. And then 3 the next and then to top it all of both of the current assistants will be home by the middle of September. The mission is young. We have some hard workers, and some great leaders to help move it along.

We were able to do an awesome booth in the state capital of Augusta! We did the Book of Mormon experience, made balloon animals, gave out otter pops and water, played corn hole, and three a Frisby. It was great because before and after the parade we were swamped with people to teach, and during it we had some fun with them! Then to end the night, we went with our investigators to the fireworks.

Since we had the meet and greet with the Mission President and his wife, they cancelled all district counsels. I have no idea why, but we made the most of that time, and went on exchanges with the Farmingdale Elders. I went with Elder O'Rourke, and it was great! We did some service at the hospital. We were out finding, and decided to go to a nature preserve to find. It's called Hobbit Land. While we were there we were able to find some people to begin teaching. Amazing place. People were confused to see us out in the wilderness with our white shirts. It was a great conversation start though!

Then to top off the week, one of the people we are teaching Cindy, and her 8 year old son Chris came to church again this week. Since it was fast Sunday we told them that members of the congregation got up to share what they know is true. Chris wanted to get up there, so we helped him up there. He got up and told everyone that he knows everything happens for a reason, and he was super happy to meet the Elders. There's a little more to the story, but it was a super sweet thing to see. It reminded me of when my girls Marthene and Maria were in the primary program.

The mission is a great place. I'll miss times like these.

Anyways hope everyone has a great week!
