Week Sixty Six

I don't know if I've said this in any of my other weekly emails before, but one of my favorite pastimes in life is asking little kids if they know fortnite dances. Well on Saturday night we were passing a Saturday night mass at this huge church, and there was a heard of little ninos out there running around. So I yelled "Amigitos!" "Do you know any fortnite dances?" and then it got wild. It went from a bunch of 8 year old kids running around to a straight dance party😂

This weekend there was a giant nor'easter that slammed the Boston area, and we got caught walking around like 2 miles from the car in Lynn. It was crazy and the roads were flooded in Lynn, so we were jumping around trying not to get soaked. We made it back, but my shoes are still recovering.

The Red Sox won the World Series last night, but throughout the week everyone's been partying and wearing their Red Sox gear. It's actually helped a lot with our finding.

So this week was the primary program in our ward, and we are teaching an amazing African family with two little girls. We found them when we first got here, and they've been coming to church for around 2-3 months now, so they've been learning the primary songs. This week we went over twice to teach them, and we practiced the primary songs with them. And on Sunday we got to watch them in the primary program. Their mom was sooooo proud of them, she was telling all of her African friends before the program that her daughters were performing in church. They got a couple of speaking parts in it too. So that was the highlight of my week.

Elder Solo and I hit our 15th month mark this week. The time has been flying by out here, especially in Boston. The fast pace lifestyle makes your life go faster. I wish I had some cool spiritual though to share with you, but I don't have any cool insights at the moment. Just keep the commandments and your covenants, be nice, and patient, and God will bless you. Have a good week y'all.

It was a wet nor'easter.

Took the whole district to Costco because I'm not missing my Costco run.  Then we took them over to East Boston.

Week Sixty Five

This week was full of lots and lots of finding.

It started off with exchanges with the Lynnfield Elders. We blitzed our area, and that means one companionship usually gets majority of the lessons planned that day so the other can find in a different part of the area. So we were #teamfind. It was pretty lit. At the end of the day we were walking to a Papa Gino's to meet some members, and we got right outside the shop when some dude jumped up in front of us, and started preaching in tongues. The member saw us and was watching from inside, and I'm sure from his view we looked like some stellar missionaries, but from our view we were just watching some man spazz out in front of us. After talking about the gospel with him, he gave us the traditional "I respect what you young men do" talk that every missionary hears at least 5 times a transfer, and then was on his way. This experience reminded me of when I visited a Pentacostle church in Rockland😂  The pizza was good too.

The very next day we were walking Revere Beach, and talking to people along the way. We got into a conversation with some guys in jail who were cleaning the beach. We had a good conversation about repentance and this guy told us he was going to find us when he gets out. That's probably the only time that phrase coming from someone in jail is good. Anyways we kept walking, and we accidentally walked onto the set of a movie. I think it's called Wonderland or something, and it has Mark Wahlberg in it. Idk if people thought we were official because of our shirts and ties, but no one said anything to us. We talked to some way cool people there. One of them knew Donald Glover pretty well, and had worked with him a lot. We also picked up a security guard as a new investigator. He was amazed by the Book of Mormon! Anyways if you're confident, not many people question you👍

Last night we didn't have anything scheduled except for more finding time. So we decided to tract, because we felt like facing some rejection. After some great conversation, interrupting multiple family dinners, and freezing cold wind, we got the cops called on us. It was all good though. I'm not sure the police could do anything if they found us anyways. We did find one amazing family from it, so it was worth it. In the end I'd say this week was one for the books. Had a lot of fun times, and found some amazing people. God answered our prayers, and we had a good time while doing it.

Hope y'all have a good week, and be good!

Week Sixty Four

This week for some reason felt like it was really long even though we had a late pday. Anyways there were some cool things that happened.

We've been teaching an awesome dude and his wife named Willie and Arrianni. (Or something g like that.) They moved here from Brazil not long ago, and he came up and started talking to us while we were updating our area book in our apartment complex. Anyways we had a good first lesson with him, and we asked if we could bring a friend to the next lesson with us. We brought someone who just moved into our ward named Felipe. He also just moved in from Brazil! Turns out they lived like a couple cities away from each other in Brazil. It was awesome. They are buds now. They already planned a double date for ice cream, so their wives can meet each other.

So a few months ago I was on exchanges with Methuen, and they had no plans so we just went hard in the street finding. Well we found some awesome lady named Jasmine who put her phone on hold to talk to us. Well on Saturday I got to interview her for baptism. At first I didn't say anything about it, but then when I told her it was me who stopped her on the streets, she literally freaked out, and thanked me a ton. It was amazing to see, and I will never forget it.

We also split the area with sisters because President knows this zone could use more sets of missionaries. We kept the whole coastline. The ward also had a freak out on Sunday because we didn't tell anyone they were coming. Elder Solomon said he felt like the old dog when a puppy is brought into the house😂 it's true though. Haha anyways it's been a good week here in Revere. The zone is doing fantastic, and everyone is happy.

Have a good week homies!

Pictures from transfers

I made up a fun finding challenge that involves everybody taking a bunch of random pictures with a certain object. So I have a lot of fun pictures of everyone.
