Week One - MTC

Elder Clifford and his companion Elder White

Ok so I'm sure you've guys have heard this a million times, but wow they really just throw you into the work here. So I get dropped off, and before I know it some lil dude is wearing my backpack and dragging my suitcase telling me everything will get better once Sunday hits. Then we got to my dorm, threw everything in there and headed straight to a classroom. I got to my classroom, and there were like 6 dudes just chilling and a teacher. The teacher told me to just sit down and get situated. I didn't know what they meant by that so I just sat down and opened my tablet and read the scriptures. Anyways everyone's companions kept showing up and before I knew it everyone had a companion. Except me. My companion Elder White showed up like 45 minutes into our first lesson. So anyways, that's the first 2 hours of the mtc.

Ok, so let's talk about my companion and district and my teacher and stuff. My companion Elder White is pretty cool. He's laidback, but can get pretty spiritual when needed. My district is awesome though I'll send a picture of all of us later, but these guys are awesome. So there are 6 of us going to New Hampshire, a few going to Detroit, and the rest are going to Halifax Canada.

Answering Dad’s questions:

How has week one been for you? Do you like the MTC, your district, Your classes, teachers, food?         The weeks been great. The mtc is crazy though. My district is pretty chill, and my teachers are awesome.

Tell us about your MTC companion and your district.    My companion Elder White is cool.  I’m friends with all the missionaries in my district. We got group pictures, and they’ll come later today and I’ll label every one of them so you know who they are.

What have you learned about yourself so far?      I learned that patience is a virtue. I came in with the biggest group the mtc has had this year, and lines for food are realllly long.

How have the care packages from mom been thus far? I know she has sent a couple so far. Are you a big hit due to the packages? (Assuming you share. J )   I’ve got two packages so far, and they’re good. The district enjoyed the salsa.

Any fun experiences thus far? Cool Devotionals, seen smalls or anyone else you know?    There’s been some cool experiences. Just like learning how to teach lessons. I taught a lesson the second day in here, and it’s some crazy stuff. I’ve already taught 6, and 3 of them were yesterday.

How many of you are going to New Hampshire? Is your entire district all NH missionaries?   There are 6 of us going to New Hampshire, and there is another district that is going as well. I haven’t met them yet though.

What is your schedule each day like?   Wake up, shower, get dressed, go to breakfast, then class and teaching, lunch, class and teaching, dinner, than class study time. Then bed. The only free time I have is from 9:30 to 10:30 at night.

What is your least favorite thing about mission life so far?    Probably just how crowded it is here.

Have you received any letters or packages from anyone else besides us?    No, you should tell the homies to hit me up on dear elder or something.

 They found New Hampshire!
