Week Seven

What is up everybody?

It’s been a great week here in Camden. This last week was pretty fun. The weather out here has been pretty weird.

So we started last Tuesday off with an exchange with Belfast. That was a good time. I was with Elder Butikofer and Elder Harper in Rockland. We went, and taught two lessons. While we were beginning to teach S some man called out to us. He yelled and asked if we were Jehovah Witnesses, and we yelled back “Mormons”. Then he yelled “Perfect”, and ran over to us. He then began to ask if we knew who God was. He claimed that God and satan had revealed themselves to him in their regular forms. Then he asked who the most powerful man on this planet was, because he needed to talk to him. Apparently he is a time traveler who is not of this world, and needs to warn our leader about our future. He told us he has an interspace bounty on his head, and he is worth about 21. I don’t know what he means by 21, but I guess that is a high number to him. Well, we gave him a Book of Mormon, and kind of shuffled away in a casual "please don’t talk to me ever again"manner.  He claimed that he was the prophet of every church on this earth right now too. S was laughing so hard though.  Anyways we found a boat after we taught S, and took some beautiful pictures.  I also got to try a lobster roll too. It took me forever to get around to having one. They’re alright, but too expensive for what you get.

On Wednesday we drove to district meeting, and it was perfect weather. Everything was all nice, and dandy. Then as we were getting Mcdonald’s on the way home, a downpour like no other pour of downs occurred. I feared for my life as I ran from the Mcdonald’s to the car. Poor Elder Butikofer had to back the car out in the rain. I managed to only get half soaked from all of it.
On Thursday I got the motherl

Then yesterday was just another cool Sunday. We were walking along proselyting when we got an emergency blessing text. Well we were 45 minutes from the car, and about 15 minutes from the home we were to go to by car. All of a sudden we saw the members I had helped move with Elder O'Rourke the day before. We ran over to them, and they drove us to our car, and we were able to go over and give the blessing. That was a crazy experience, and it ended up working out very good. We didn’t have a dinner appointment for that night because of where we were working Sunday night, but the people we gave a blessing too let us stay and eat dinner. So that was all good.

Now I’m heading out into a verrrrrry hectic week. Elder Bednar is coming, and I’m studying hard as ever to be prepared to learn all that he teaches. Have a good week everyone, and have some fun in your lives.

This video was texted to us by the family that fed them Sunday night.  We are so grateful to them for feeding them when they hadn't even planned on it.

Elders Clifford, Wendel and Harper made this video for a zone conference, pretty sure they're expecting this to go viral so Momma's doing her part sharing it here.  ;)

Week Six

Hello!

This week has been great! It started off with us waking up really early to hike Mt. Battie again. We went with the Ellsworth Elders and decided we wanted to watch the sunrise… so we did it. We had zone conference the same day, so we had to get back down as fast as possible to get ready. We took some cool pics though. The Ellsworth Elders stayed over again that night and we had exchanges with them the next day. The highlight of that day would be teaching “C” and “B”. They are progressing well. We also have another new investigator named ”D”, who likes to ask questions about politics, social security, and welfare. He doesn't understand why the members of our church are so conservative and don't support welfare and things like that. He's fun to teach though.

Last week, I forgot to tell you about the social media change in our mission and the upcoming visit from Elder Bednar. There are so many awesome and crazy things happening out here. I am really excited. Elder Bednar will be visiting our mission, so we are having a mission conference. Then, a few days later he will be at our stake conference. President Blair is making sure everyone is well prepared for when he visits. I don’t know what the social media deal will entail, but I might ask President Blair if I can have you send me my uke, so I can post clips of church songs of me playing and my companion singing or something like that. I think it would be a great thing to post for investigators and members who follow me.

The members here are so nice to us missionaries!!! We had three meals on Sunday!!! While we were at Sister Emerson’s house, I was randomly talking about Scentsy’s, when all of a sudden Sister Emerson jumped up and grabbed us one of those heat lamps, and a bunch of different tart flavors for our apartment. So now “the barn” (our awesome apartment we live it) smells like autumn apples. We love it! Also… today is the first day you can pick apples here, so I guess you can say that fall is starting. I don’t know if I ever told you about the Bigney Family. They are pretty awesome. They have us over every Sunday night and Sister Bigney lets me help her cook. It’s so much fun. So yep… the members her are great!

There's been talk that some big storm might hit here, so that’s pretty crazy I guess. Beside this…not much else to report.

Have a great week everyone!
